The Cadillac logo has gone through roughly 40 changes in their 111 years. Its gone from a duck with a crown to its current wreath and crest. It is now a time once again for Caddy to reinvent their logo. The laurel wreath has been a signature for a while and they will now be dropping it. The last change of logo happened roughly a decade ago and it will be interesting to see what they will reveal next.
The new logo is said to premier on a concept vehicle at Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in California next month. The redesign will most likely appear on production cars no earlier than 2015 model year, although nothing seems to be set in stone at the moment.
The old-fashioned wreath seems to go against Cadillac’s cutting-edge image. The goal is a single-piece emblem will give designers more flexibility when positioning it on the vehicle. The obstacle when considering a new logo is that Cadillac would have to re-market in all dealerships and redo signage which will be a costly endeavor.
