Hyundai Recalls Brake LightsHyundai Recall

Above all else, Hyundai is probably best for its affordability and reliability. Upon further auto inspection of one model though, the South Korean car manufacturer is going to issue a Hyundai repair recall on almost 305,000 vehicles. This is according to NBCnews.com and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The Hyundai recall is for 2011-2012 Sonata vehicles between Dec. 11, 2009, and June 30, 2011. The issue at hand is to replace the brake pedal stopper pad. Apparently, sometimes the light switch plunger does not retract when it should. Which can cause the brake light to stay on at all times.

While it could be a much more serious problem dealing with brake pad service, timing belt repair, or some type of emission regulations, it's still potentially dangerous enough to cause an accident, though no injuries have been reported so far stemming from the issue.

The Good News About This Hyundai Recall

The Hyundai recall will come at no cost to owners, which is good news considering the total average repair cost in the U.S. is about $305.56. Engine and transmission problems are two of the most expensive auto repair services in the United States.
Many times issues like this will be spotted during an annual inspection. However not always, which is why it's so important to be aware and responsible for any and all recalls your vehicle might have. Problems with brake pads are somewhat common. This is why it's recommended that you have them checked by a professional auto repair shop every 12,000 miles or six to 12 months.

Need a great way to reduce the wear-and-tear on your brake pads? This method can save you a little money on gas. The method is to allow you to coast from speeds around 70 - 50 mph when getting off the highways. No matter what brand of car you own, regular inspection and maintenance are crucial. This is to ensure that you catch any issues before they turn into larger, potentially very dangerous situations.
